Intentional Holiday Tradition Resources

Intentional Holiday Tradition Resources

None of these resources are necessary for a good holiday, but over the years, I have asked God how I could possibly be more intentional in making sure that He gets the glory... & not letting that go missed.

These are some of the things that have helped me keep turning the focus back on Him, giving Him the thanks & the focus of which He is deserving.

Please share with me other ways that have been a blessing to you, by sending me a message through the "Contact Me" tab of my website! I would love to hear new ideas on how I can intentionally put Christ at the center of our celebrations throughout the year.

May these be a blessing to you & your family.

Give Thanks to the Lord!

It can be easy for me, in all of the planning of Thanksgiving dinner, hosting guests or attending someone else’s gathering, to forget what this holiday should be all about–Giving thanks to God.

One year, when praying about that lack I find in myself, I got the idea to look up verses (& this list is far from exhaustive!) that demonstrate & pronounce different things we ought to praise God for… so, I compiled some & made this little list.

Now, each year, I try to remember to print enough for the crowd, we pass them out, then take turns each reading a verse about all the reasons we have for giving God thanks.

We follow this by going around the circle, each taking a second for a quick prayer, thanking God for something we’re grateful to Him for… instead of just SAYING we’re thankful, actually taking a moment to THANK Him for it. (*Note that for those uncomfortable with praying aloud, a squeeze of the hand passes to the next person.)

I hope this is a blessing to you & your family/friends during Thanksgiving dinners!
